Everyone's favorite little blue-haired demon lord Zatch and his human friend Kiyo are back for another adventure. Only this time they've got an extra member: a little girl named Tia. Together they must face off against some of the most powerful mamodo in the entire world as part of a tournament known as the King Festival. The stakes? Nothing less than total domination of this world and all others! The story takes place some time after the end of the original anime series. Tia, a female mamodo who was one of the priests in her village, has been taken to a strange place called Konpeitoh Town. She meets Kiyo Takamine and Zatch Bell, and saves them from being attacked by a mamodo boy named Clear Note. The town is made up of humans who worship mamodos as gods, and had asked for Tia's help in defeating Clear Note. Clear Note had dominated the previous King Festival, and had become very powerful. Kiyo had become determined to defeat him so he kept training his spells with Zatch on Mt. Peishiyi, and Tia had followed Kiyo and Zatch to train her spells as well. She built a raft by using her spells and the help of the aquatic mamodo named Brago, and started on a journey to meet up with Kiyo and Zatch. In the following King Festival, Clear Note has been defeated by his own partner, Girom. Tia then challenges Girom with Kiyo as her partner. In his anxiety of protecting Tia from Girom`s powerful spells, Kiyo accidentally activates "Zaker". After their defeat at the hands of Girom, they decide to carry on going to Mt. Peishiyi together. During their trip to Mt. Peishiyi, they run into a place that the mamodo Tazmily, who had been defeated by Zatch in the original anime series, live in harmony. They are informed that the new King Festival has been set up to take place in two days at Konpeitoh Town, with Clear Note returning. They make it there only to find out that Clear Note has died.
