The manthrikam is an assay of saivite hymns in praise of Siva. These are created by various maestros in the centuries that followed Narayana-swamy's time, but it is particularly prevalent during Kerala's golden age in the 10th century when there were many poets who wrote manthriks. புது விரை, the great poet-saint of this period, was one of them.
